Ways Forward In Ecumenism In This Contemporary Age

G G Services live-streamed a public talk on Ecumenism on Tuesday 11 October 2016. The 2016 Bishop Michael Putney Memorial Leweb-banner1cture was given by Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, General Secretary of the World Council of Churches.

This lecture series is presented by Queensland Churches Together and Brisbane Roman Catholic Council for Ecumenism and Inter-Religious Relations.

The series commemorates the late Roman Catholic Bishop of Townsville. He was well-known for his deep interest in ecumenism, and in 2013 was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for his service to the Catholic Church in Australia and the Townsville community and for his efforts to promote interfaith dialogue.

This year’s event took place at Holy Spirit Seminary, Banyo, where Michael Putney studied for the priesthood in the 1960s. The program began at about 7.00pm AEST and can be viewed at https://livestream.com/ggservices/ecumenism.

Three cameras: one locked-off, one on remote PT head, one with operator.

Van layout 2016 update

G G Services OB van has an improved layout for video production, with the switcher control (a customised panel courtesy of Skaarhoj) and multiview screen on the left. The second operator has access to recording and playout gear, audio monitoring and signal processing (the latter by Ross Video and Algolith).
More thermal insulation and wall lining was installed in March 2016.

Interfaith activities

During the first quarter of 2016 G G Services video-recorded and provided AV support for a number of Brisbane interfaith events as well as joining the video crew at Toowoomba’s Multi-Faith Multicultural Centre for their combined Australia Day and Chinese New Year Celebration.

An Easter OB

In April 2015 G G Services provided an OB facility for Easterfest in Toowoomba, SE Queensland. Easterfest is a 4-day music event featuring international and local performers and has been running for 13 years. This year performances were in three tent venues in Toowoomba’s Queens Park, and many cafes and other venues throughout the city. The stage where G G Services operated (called “The Epicentre”) was live for 13 hours a day over three days, with a 2-hour break mid evening when an adjacent venue was hosting headline acts.

Audio split from the digital stage box was mixed down in an adjacent vehicle for embedding. The program was recorded on three hard-disk machines for later editing and output via fibre to the festival’s Master Control where it was switched to the livestream with feeds from two other stages, an interview/hosting set, pre-recorded festival stories and live crosses from roving crews.
